The Extraordinary Hats: may they always be Great!

My life began with President Carter’s rules: My work was found to be favorable and I was given a chance that was measurable in months.

Thus began a career in a world full of power: People assumed authority over my life and I found to my eternal damnation that I could not function in my first work environment. A great Supervisor understood what was happening and offered to help…

My second chance was measured in years. At this point I became aware of ridicule and political power. In a state with few good jobs, everyone was after the pit I was given. A great Manager stood up to this small town and reproved me when I was too much of an asshole.

There is very little decent work in this state, a situation many people have tried to change. President Clinton did change my life and because of his rules I was given a chance measured in decades. But because I am an asshole, it took an advocate to convince my management that I should be given a job.

For years my Managers looked favorably on my work and put up with several hospitalizations caused by birth defects. A Lovelace surgeon performed a flawless surgery that saved my life and a great Support Manager put up with all of my sicknesses.

By this time many people were attempting to get rid of me because of prejudice and poverty. My job had become something many people envied and one Manager took it upon himself to evaluate my history and work. He coldly evaluated my existence and told the people who were screaming for revenge, “No.” Thus my employment continued to this day.

My career is now at a turning point. Vengeance, poverty, and mistakes have become a choir of voices screaming for me to suffer and die. One Manager’s car was stolen and has been terrorized into adopting points of view he would not adopt in the beginning of his tenure. Another great Manager has remained neutral in the face of this group, he has rewarded my work knowing that this choir exists, and has treated me fairly even when his Managers question his decisions about me. But even he is powerless in the coming environment. No person can change the emotions of another person and if a group does not want to collaborate with me, they cannot be forced to.

It is though an agent of evil surrounds me and I cannot extricate myself from it–I don’t think that I ever will.

I have said all that I wanted to say in my previous posts. Everything is set, waiting for an event to trigger //`it;,/?,/s beginning. I cannot describe how good my past Managers have been to me, for there is decency in a world filled with envy, prejudice, poverty, and demagoguery. I have asked the Triune God to bless them, but He does not have to act on any man’s prayers.

One Manager’s wife died of cancer, another Manager’s wife died of sepsis. They were both too young to be taken from this world. Another Manager was forced to retire due to health problems and my current Manager has health problems too.

I do not understand why the world is the way it is when so much good exists.

I can only thank our Triune God for a number of decent Men and Women who have given me this life and expression.
