Strong like China

The course of dealing with dissent is a struggle that strengthens the engine of problem solving and the ability to deal with change. Without these social engines, without the inclination to struggle with something new, that is–to deny: we only have to look over our border at Mexico for an example of the result.

People need community and life for their progeny. This urge is at the core of the Phelps picketing of military funerals.

I do not agree with the actions the Phelps are taking. However, I don’t know how to deal with monsters like bin-Laden, but I dislike death and just the same I cringe when people trample on the dead. It seems that the Supreme Court agrees.

But today the Supreme Court let stand a ruling that allows people to be ejected from events that are sponsored by office holders because the people have a dissenting view. Only two Justices dissented in this case. Well America some day eject these Justices?

The intellectual synergy that America is assuming will lead to a denial of the need for change, thus causing an inability to deal with change. If America stays this course there will be corruption and collapse. (What were the ratings of CBS News after its denial of air time to dissenting views?) But then I could be wrong and we could grow strong like the Chinese.

Given that greed exists in the U.S.A, we now have firm examples of corruption here in the U.S.A.

“If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”
Time published two essays on China. Is this really a model for the United States? What if authorities adopted this programme? Would there be chaos?
