I updated a post below (“WordPress hacked”) more than a week ago and committed a typographical error.
I never knew about the error in the embedded HTML until May 14th when my blog main page started displaying funny.
An administrative change I made to the web log triggered the errant behavior somehow, the exact cause—unknown.
I worked for 9 hours today (a Saturday) trying to find what I thought was a bug in the WordPress code. I used the WordPress supplied re-install over the web utility, I flattened my WordPress installation on the server and re-built it…Neither procedure worked. I poured over the WordPress website support documentation and they put forth the idea that there could be a typo in a post. I isolated the point in the WordPress code where the error could occur and looked for an error behavior.
When I found a page that rendered correctly and a page that did not render correctly, I compared the two. I could not find a difference. I guess I am too old to see a one character difference in two files approximately 4000 characters in size. 🙂 Using CoffeeCup (that I own), I removed the dynamically generated HTML for each post until I stumbled on the typo…A missing ” character!
As we can see, all is now well.

Hi WillThanks for your reply Was wondering if you have cisnodered any form of Captcha to protect your form – or making it compatible with one of the WP Captcha plugins? A second thought was that it would be nice if you also received an email with the lead information, I know this can be achieved via SugarCRM but being done in WP would be a safeguard.Kind regardsBrad
