Royalty and subjects; doctors and patients; educated and uneducated; private and public; rich and poor; righteous and wicked; saints and sinners; management and labor; officers and soldiers; beautiful and ugly—we live in a profoundly divided world.
Luke 11:14 He was casting out a devil and it was dumb;
but when the devil had gone out the dumb man spoke, and the people were amazed.
15 But some of them said, `It is through beelzebul, the prince of devils, that he casts out devils’.
16 Others asked Him, as a test, for a sign from heaven;
17 but knowing what they were thinking, He said to them, `Every kingdom divided against itself is heading for ruin,
and a household divided against itself collapses.
18 So too with satan; if he is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand?—Since you assert that it is through beelzebul that I cast out devils.
19 Now if it is through beelzebul that I cast out devils, through whom do your own experts cast them out?
Let them be your judges, then.
20 But if it is through the finger of God that I cast out devils,
then know that the kingdom of God has overtaken you.
John 18:36 Jesus replied, `Mine is not a kingdom of this world;
if my kingdom were of this world, my men would have fought to prevent My being surrendered to the Jews.
But My kingdom is not of this kind.’
I know that hundreds of billions of men and women have wished to go back in time to help Jesus. But no-one was recorded in history as actually doing so…
Is there some great evil that held the public back from performing such a great feat? Or is the huMAN race headed for ruin? Did some great war or a consequence of overpopulation prevent an advance great enough to reach Jesus? Or did the huMAN race cook in a warmed earth? Or freeze as a consequence of a stilled ocean?
