ode to Dr. John Archibald Wheeler

Jaron Lanier wrote a very interesting article comparing cutting edge physical theories in Discover magazine. I (and Discover magazine) invite you to read the article.

Mr. Lanier begins by saying that loop quantum gravity is defined by the relationships among its elements rather than by how the elements fit in a master framework. (Relativity is a relational theory.) He then says that quantum field theory is defined on top of a master framework and ignores relational effects. He then goes on to say that M-theory (built on string theory) starts from quantum field theory and tries to take in general relativity. It proposes a complicated master framework with curled-up hidden dimensions. Loop quantum gravity starts from general relativity and attempts to incorporate quantum field theory within a relational approach. Time and space emerge from the relationships among multitudes of elements.

It is no surprise that relativity is a relational theory. God made man in His image, and Einstein made General Relativity in an atmosphere of dialogs with persons he chose to relate to. Einstein would not interact even with his own family when he could not relate to them.

At the same time the quantum theorists chose an approach that depended on what they were able to measure. They came up with a language that described a master framework, even when the master framework was so confounding it defied intuitive measurement. This master framework (and Einstein’s other work unrelated to relativity theory) has yielded the computer that I am writing this post on and the internet used to transmit this post to you.

There is a melding of the two schools in modern theories, but the communities can still be seen. Another early member of the fused relational and master framework schools is Dr. Wheeler. After developing nuclear power and the atomic bomb, he went on to write that in the universe of the very small there is no direction in space or time.

Our Triune God in His infinite majesty has given freedom to the life in the very small. And this life has chosen to return Jesus Christ’s love. There is no certainty in the very small. This small life has such freedom that there are absolutely no constraints at all placed on this life. Thus as they move, there are no visible patterns of any kind. This life out of love for the Triune God chooses to move in a way that provides H. sapiens a macroscopic certainty.

As usual I am showing the world what an idiot I continue to be. (But my place may really be a test particle at this point.) These ideas about related scientific thought were pursued by David Bohm.

Now imagine a dodecahedron whose unit side length is 1D-(\vast\ large) or ten raised to a horribly large negative number. What is inside this dodecahedron? Only a person’s soul can exist in such a monstrosity. It is an existence grounded directly in the Holy Spirit and it just may be real because without the Holy Spirit, this monstrosity is only a resonance.

Thank you Dr. John Archibald Wheeler! Thank you for hope, for a prayer, and a zephyr.

Humans have always imagined. (Many persons have seized on this imagination to spark their wealth or to achieve various types of goals.) As time proceeded, the imaginings of humans have yielded reality!

Remember imaginary numbers? From being cast as imaginary, they now are applied to find solutions in diverse applications!

How about mathematical transforms? This is a construction of the mind of human beings that is applied in communications, astronomy, geology, optics, and other disciplines!

There are many others that have been applied in every field on the planet.

What if a person could construct a heavenly domain and a transform from this domain to earth? What personal difficulties could be overcome? Could life on earth be improved with this additional fortitude?

A ranter who in the end thanks joyfully.

  4. Hi. I wanted to drop you a quick word to express my thanks. Ive been following your blog for a month or so and have picked up a ton of good information and loved the method youve structured your site. I am trying to run my very own weblog however I feel its too general and I need to give attention to a number of smaller topics. Being all things to all people is just not all that its cracked up to be
